Charleston Memorial Day Weekend 2018 Events

The Atlantic Cup

Where: Charleston City Marina

When: May 22 – May 26

The Atlantic Cup has chosen Charleston as its starting point again this year! Visit the Charleston City Marina from May 22nd to May 25th to get a look at the boats that will be racing in this year’s cup. You can also sign your children up for the Kids Education Program, where they’ll be able to meet some of the sailors before they disembark on their big race. Sailors will share stories of their time sailing, and the children will learn about environmental concerns facing our oceans and how they can help by recycling.

Come to the marina before 12 pm on the morning of May 26th to see the boats as they start on their way up to New York City. This is certainly one of the most exciting things to do in Charleston on Memorial Day Weekend!

Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival

Where: Marion Square

When: May 25 – June 11 (Mon-Thurs: 10 am – 5 pm/Fri-Sun: 10 am – 6 pm)

Charleston is proud to host the 39th Annual Piccolo Spoleto Arts Festival once again in Marion Square. Watch daily painting presentations and see the work of over 70 artists in a beautiful open-air festival for the whole family. The festival’s program features visual arts, music, dance, theater, children’s activities, and much more. There’s a little something for everyone at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. If you’re searching for cultural things to do in Charleston on Memorial Day Weekend, this is the festival for you!

Party at the Point presents Idlewild Revival: A Musical Tribute to The Allman Brothers

Where: Charleston Harbor Resort

When: May 25 (Gates open at 5:00, Music starts at 5:30)

Bring your family and relax to some classic Allman Brothers’ tunes this Memorial Day weekend. Party at the Point is Charleston’s premier Happy Hour concert series and offers great music in an incredible outdoor venue. Tickets are only $8 and children under 12 are free!

Puppies and Pints Brunch

Where: Bay Street Biergarten

When: May 27 (11 am)

Brunch is the only way to start your Sunday, and what could possibly be better than brunch with your favorite furry friend. Come to Bay Street Biergarten to enjoy their signature biers, bloodys, and mimosas with a bunch of adorable dogs. This is a popular Memorial Day Weekend 2018 event in Charleston, so make sure you come early and bring your appetite!

The Charleston Mt. Pleasant Art Festival

Where: Towne Center, Belk Drive, Mt Pleasant

When: May 26 – May 27 (10 am – 5 pm)

The Charleston Mt. Pleasant Art Festival brings together 100 national and local artists to create an incredible display of all kinds of art, including glasswork, painting, and sculpture. Admission is free and there will be a craft marketplace with original artworks available for purchase.
